Chris Swicegood began playing guitar at age 15 after his Dad pulled him into the living room to watch a PBS special of the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughn…the obsession was born.
Coming from a musical family, Chris was put to work early on piano, violin and flute when he was younger, and voice lessons when he was older. Playing in local bands and songwriting continued all throughout high school and into College. He played guitar in Jazz Band in High School and his first year of college, but couldn’t resist Rock n’ Roll music.
His first degree was from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where he earned a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance. He then continued there to earn his Masters of Music Degree as well for Classical Guitar Performance.
While at TCU, he met his wife and soulmate, Lolly Patrick. Lolly was a Musical Theatre student and they spoke the same language right from the start! After she graduated they married in the fall of 2007
Chris has endeavored to gain musical acclaim ever since, tirelessly writing and recording music and lyrics with undying energy and enthusiasm.
Immediately after the honeymoon Chris met Henry Hirsch and an immediate kinship was found. Henry recognized Chris’s potential as an artist and began to Mentor him. So much energy was gained by their friendship that in April of 2010 Chris and Lolly moved to Hudson, New York where Henry lives, to record and perform closer to his friend. While he was there, Chris recorded two CD’s, “Lila” and “evermore” with Henry, and performed for many different venues all over NY. It seemed that he was in the right place for music and everyone there loved his style.
